This is the 7th of 12 label filings we hold from Upland Brewing Co. It is one of 38 wild / brett / lambic-style labels approved in September 2019. It cleared 14 days after it was filed. The label names 2 hops — Eureka and Citra, and carries barrel-aged, dry-hopped on the front. The label carries the Brewers Association independent seal.
From the label“A COMPOSITION OF DISCOVERY. Teaming up with our friends at The Bruery in Anaheim, CA, this barrel-aged sour ale was inspired by the idea of blending our two barrel-aged programs together. GOLDEN BRUE combines The Bruery recipe & house yeast strain with Upland's lambic-style sour ale. BASIS, a sombre that every brewer brings to the table. After aging for four months in our oak barrels, we dry-hopped the batch with Eureka and Citra hops. GOLDEN BRUE boasts notes of citrus & pine that are complemented by subtle Belgian yeast characteristics. The finish is dry with a light tartness and golden appearance.”
