What the dataset is, and what you may do with it.
Browse everything, free. Quote or excerpt with attribution and a link. Don't bulk-copy or republish the compiled dataset.
The underlying facts — federal label approvals from the TTB COLA registry — are US government public records, and no one owns them, us included. You can always go read the registry yourself; our methodology page keeps the filing ID on every record so you can.
What hopgrail adds is the compilation: reading every filing daily, extracting style, ABV, hops, and the label's own words, joining filings to a canonical brewery graph, and keeping it all current. That compiled and enriched dataset is © hopgrail.
Personal use, research, and journalism. Quoting individual records or small excerpts — with attribution to hopgrail.com and a link to the page you drew from. Sharing links, screenshots of pages, and the share cards the site generates.
Bulk scraping, copying, or republishing the compiled dataset or substantial portions of it — commercially or otherwise — without written permission. Passing the compilation off as your own, or using it to train commercial models.
