Scan a can

Scan a can finds a beer from its barcode or its label, across the beers on Hop Grail: label approvals, the beers breweries list on their own websites and newsletters and, when you're signed in, your own journal. A barcode is looked up among the 2,501 barcodes we know; for a label, we read the beer's name, brewery and ABV off the can and look them up across all three, including 48,889 label approvals going back to December 17, 2016.

Beers sold across state lines have their label approved first, so a can with no barcode can still be found by its label. When neither the barcode nor the label matches, we say so — we never guess. If we haven't seen it, you can add it. How the match works → · Scan faster in the free iPhone app →
