From the label

What is wild cannot be tamed. Only bottled. We added 4 oak casks of beer for wine barrels from Oliver Winery in 2006, which marked the start of our exploration into sour brewing. Today, we still experiment with the help of our retired sour town. This time we aged Basis, our blonde ale, on Indiana-grown Chambourcin grapes for 6 months in brand new oak wine barrels. The result is a fruited sour ale that pours deep burgundy with tart juicy flavors and aromas complemented by tanning pulled from the fresh barrels—a great way to start this year's SBS innovations.
