The label features a pen-and-ink illustration of an underwater scene dominating the centre: a large fish head rendered in fine line work, surrounded by sparse aquatic plants and three small sharks in silhouette. The composition is bounded by a thin teal border on a cream background. Bold magenta sans-serif capitals reading "AGUA MALA" run vertically down the left edge, with the beer style "VIEJA MEXICAN AMBER LAGER" set in black type below the fish illustration.
