From the label

Gone before the first notes of auld lang syne! Ice skates and candy canes, brightly lit trees and spending quality time with close friends and family — the sights and sounds of the season are upon us, bringing joy to one and all. That's what boughs of barley is for: celebrating the season in all its glory. A rich and silky smooth Baltic porter, carefully fermented with our house lager yeast, we've created a delectable brew for your holiday season. We cold conditioned this brew for a month before we laid it to rest in port wine barrels. Bringing forth a well-rounded body with strong aromas of the port barrels on the nose. A hint of acidity creeps in to add a depth of balance. Port barrel-aged boughs of barley is our holiday treat for you. Grab a bottle while it lasts, because this limited release will be gone before the first notes of auld lang syne!
