“Biere de Garde is a farmhouse Ale traditionally buried for aging. A malt backbone provides body and toasty Maillard character, while its restrained European hop bill adds soft herbal complexity. Saison yeast develops delicate fruitiness before the beer is aged in both red wine and port barrels. At last, it emerges from the shadows, armed with dark fruit notes.”
