This is the 12th of 22 labels we have from Short's Brewing. It is one of 11 brown ale labels approved in July 2026. It was submitted and approved the same day.
A snow-covered sugar shack sits at the center of a winter forest scene, flanked by bare birch trees with deep shadow striations across the foreground. The illustration employs warm and cool tones to depict a rural Northwoods landscape, rendered in a watercolour style with naturalistic depth. Bold yellow sans-serif type announcing "MAPLE BROWN" overlays the left side of the composition, while a secondary narrative panel titled "SHORT'S STORIES" occupies the right, containing the marketing copy in black serif body text against a cream background.
From the label“For a tiny window of time each spring, folks all over the Northwoods tromp through deep snow, collecting gallon after gallon of maple sap just to watch it boil. A true labor of love, sugar bushing takes a ton of sap—and even more time and patience. We tapped some friends for their syrup stash to add a touch of sweetness to a Michigan-centric brown ale because pancakes don't deserve all the glory.”
