A symmetrical heraldic composition dominates the front label, with a gold coat-of-arms centred above the beer name and flanked by two winged lion figures in slate blue. The label is printed on black with gold and white lettering, arranged in horizontal bands that include the brewery's founding date of 1543 and the style descriptor "Schwarzbier". A magenta and gold ribbon runs vertically down the centre, framing the coat-of-arms, while decorative scroll ornaments in slate blue fill the upper and lower thirds of the label field.
