About this beer
This is the 10th of 77 labels we have from Matchless Brewing. It is one of 19 barleywine / strong ale labels approved in February 2019. Its label was approved 79 days after it was submitted. The label carries barrel-aged on the front. The label carries the Brewers Association independent seal.
From the label“Let's just say that a couple of us around the brewery are fruitcake fanatics! That being so, making a mixed-spirit barrel aged Old Ale was inevitable. We present to you Our Fruitcake: a red ale aged in a mix of Port, Brandy and Bourbon barrels (along with a couple neutral American oak barrels). This beer is as complex as its namesake but, we hope, much more approachable! It has notes and aromas of dark fruit, with a touch of bright citrus acidity.”
