Looking for California brewery events this weekend? Wild Parrot Brewing Company says its Squawktoberfest Oktoberfest Celebration is set for Oct 17 in Pasadena, per its newsletter. Headlands Brewing Company, meanwhile, is pairing pumpkins with a garden partner in Walnut Creek on Oct 16.

On the beer side, Green Cheek Beer Company and North Park Beer Co. each announced a new beer available to go.

I like the Headlands one. A pumpkin-themed paint-and-pot session at a beer garden is a specific idea, and I'd bet it's a first for a few people who sign up.
