A wood-engraved landscape dominates the front label, depicting a figure in a small boat on water flanked by marsh grasses and a distant sailboat under clouded sky. The composition employs fine parallel hatching throughout, rendering the scene in black and cream with the tonal depth typical of 19th-century engraving. Below the vignette, "AMERICAN LIFE" appears in serif capitals with a descriptive line in smaller type. The right panel features vertical typography and regulatory information with a laurel-wreath ABV badge.
