From the label“ChewBOCKa, German-Style Doppelbock In the 18th century, monks brewed rich, bready bock beers during their long Lenten fasts—a tradition steeped in brewing history. Always fans of trying our hand at brewing tradition, it was inevitable that we'd eventually tackle this storied style. Our bock came out big, burly, and chewy, hence the name, ChewBOCKa. This beast of a beer is made with a Munich malt base and German hops for a rich and full-bodied yet balanced and malty sweetness. A long, cool lagering period mellows this deep mahogany beer and brings aromas and notes of toasted brown bread, sweet caramel, and even dark roasted malt. Whether you're fasting or not, our ChewBOCKa is sure to satisfy. After all, we wouldn't want you thinking with your stomach...”
