About this beer

This is the 2nd of 2 labels we have from Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery. It is one of 11 session ipa labels approved in June 2026. Its label was approved 4 days after it was submitted. The label carries hazy on the front.

The artwork

A heraldic cartouche anchors the centre of the label, framed by ornamental scrollwork and featuring a cardinal perched above the brewery name in an oval shield. Behind this centrepiece, a hand-drawn map of Virginia's Gold-Pyrite Belt fills the background in ochre and sage tones, annotated with place names and geographic details. The entire composition is enclosed in a gold-ribbon banner at top and bottom, with a repeating heart-and-crown motif along the borders. The label employs a palette dominated by aged gold and cream with burgundy accents, creating a colonial-cartographic aesthetic.

“Strike Gold! Our Virginia Gold Session Hazy IPA clocks in at 4.5% ABV and strikes with a rush of flavor, aroma, and mouthfeel, bursting with notes of orange creamsicle, creamy vanilla citrus, peach, apricot, and ripe stone fruit over a soft, a soft, pillowy body and an exceptionally smooth finish. Smooth as gold, juicy as the rush. Brewed along Little Lickinghole Creek, our farm sits in the heart of Virginia's legendary Gold-Pyrite Belt. Besides the salt licks and mineral-rich creeks that attr wild game, gold drew prospectors to Lickinghole Creek.”
