Balanced sweet, malty, and mild roasty aroma. Flavor palette of burnt caramel sweetness and dark chocolate stabilized with hidden accents of dried plum and raisin. Rich, oatmeal smooth body. Balancing bitterness. The name celebrates the Pennsylvania state bird, the Ruffed Grouse (Bonasa umbellus).
