From the label

Stephen was an exceptional soldier with a gift for making people laugh, even during the Army's hardest moments. He also loved deeply. On October 3, 2009, at COP Keating, Stephan risked his life to protect his brothers-in-arms. Gravely wounded, he fought for more than twelve hours, staying awake until he knew they were safe—and still joking with the medics. His Red Platoon brothers and childhood friends keep his memory and laughter alive, including through the Mace Golf Classic, which benefits HeroHomes and disabled veterans.
