An engraved portrait of a stern-faced man in period military dress occupies the center of the label within a decorative oval frame with ornamental borders. The image is rendered in black and white engraving style against a solid black ground, with the beer name and hop variety in white and lime-green type below. Regulatory text runs vertically along the left and right edges in white sans-serif capitals.
