The artwork

A panoramic landscape dominates the label, depicting a coastal breaking wave viewed from a high vantage point over rolling hills rendered in warm earth tones and golden yellows. The composition moves from an amber and rust-coloured foreground through chartreuse and mustard middleground to a turquoise bay with white-capped surf and blue-grey sky above. The beer name appears in two lines of chunky, shadow-lettered script in the upper-left quadrant, overlaying the landscape directly. The Rincon Brewery logo sits in a circular seal on the right side.

From the label

Indicator is the top break at Rincon Point, where surfers look to see the first signs of a set coming in. On epic days, you can catch a wave off the top of Indicator, carve through the Rivermouth, and cruise all the way past the Cove to the seawall at the 101 Freeway. Only the most talented and lucky will ever catch that ride, but all of us can enjoy this classic West Coast IPA named after this iconic break.
