This is the 4th of 4 labels we have from Deep Ellum Brewing Co. It is one of 17 witbier labels approved in November 2019. Its label was approved 27 days after it was submitted.
From the label“We like Saisons and Witbiers, they're better together. 'Style' is a dirty word in Belgium and as you may have guessed can be around our brewery, as well. Saisons, traditionally, are fermented to dry tartness and liberally hopped (for a Belgian style, anyway). Witbiers are slightly sweeter, usually spiced and always pretty light in color. Why compromise? Hoppy for a witbier, possibly? Offbeat for a saison, for sure? Our unique contribution: Triticale, a relatively modern hybrid of wheat and rye. Tradition gets the Deep Ellum treatment.”
