From the label

“Named for the author of the first book about modern lager brewing in Bavaria, we offer our Munich-style dark lager, or Dunkel. Rich and malty up front, but finishing clean and balanced, this beer is inspired by one of the world's great session beers. Prost! Maine farms provide part of the grist used in this product. GRIST PILSNER, MUNICH, CARAFA This is a living product, some sediment may occur.”
