This filing went on record 12 October 2019, before the beer reached a shelf. Every week's new filings, read and delivered Tuesday morning.
This is the 1st of 10 label filings we hold from Ex Novo Brewing Co. It is one of 92 barrel-aged stout labels approved in October 2019. It cleared 16 days after it was filed.
From the label“Back label explicitly states: 'BARREL-AGED BLACK BARLEYWINE ALE WITH WHOLE COCOA BEANS & SMOKED FIGS'. The primary style is barrel-aged (spirit barrel aging is the defining characteristic), which places it in barrel_aged_stout per taxonomy rules for barrel-aged stouts. The barleywine base and high ABV (11.6%) are secondary characteristics. The label also notes '1 PINT (16 FL. OZ.) | 11.6% ALC. BY VOL.' and 'BREWED IN PORTLAND, OR AND CORRALES, NM'. The beer is brewed and bottled by Ex Novo Brewing Company at their own facility (self-produced).”
