This is the 19th of 94 labels we have from Fonta Flora Brewery. It is one of 31 stout (other/unspecified) labels approved in February 2019. Its label was approved 16 days after it was submitted.
From the label“Mashed with southern select two row barley from our good friends at Riverbend Malt House of Asheville, North Carolina along with a decidedly delicate blend of the finest caramel, chocolate and roasted malts. Fermented cool with our preferred house ale yeast for a touch of residual sweetness and a luxurious mouthfeel. Steeped on heaps of Virginia and North Carolina whole oysters. Blended with North Carolina sea salt from Outer Banks Sea Salt Company for increased salinity and complexity. Originally brewed in the Burke Arts Council and crafted for their annual oyster outing, we have been brewing this smoked and salted oyster stout for the past four years. Historically one of the first beers intentionally paired with food, oysters help cut the acidity from dark roasty malts and lend a smooth and salty finish.”
