What it is
The Bones Are Their Money is a Hazy IPA from Matchless in Tumwater, WA. It runs 6.6% ABV, and its label was approved Sep 28, 2026.
If you searched for Matchless The Bones Are Their Money, that's the short version. A label approval often comes before a beer is announced, so this is an early look.
What the label tells us
The package is a can. The hop bill is three names: Krush, Nelson Sauvin and Chinook.
The label's own copy is two words shorter than a sentence should be. It says "Up but not out." and stops there. That's the label talking, and I'd take it as a shrug more than a pitch.
I like Chinook sitting next to Nelson Sauvin in a hazy. It's an old-school pine hop alongside a grape-and-gooseberry one, at least on paper.
No art description came with this label, so I'll say nothing about the artwork.
When you might see it
There's no timing to go on yet. No release date has been announced, and the beer hasn't been spotted anywhere.
